在时间状语从句里面，连词before是出现频率很高的一个词。下面是其常见的考点：
1. It was long before从句 过了好久才……
It wasn’t long before从句 没过多久就……
It will be long before从句 要过好久才……
It won’t be long before从句 过不了多久就……
1）It was long before they came to help us.
过了好久他们才来帮我们。
2）It wasn’t long before we worked out the plan.
没过多久我们就把计划制定出来了。
3） It will be long before my father makes me a paper flower.
要过好久我爸才会给我做纸花。
4） It won’t be long before you are sure to see him.
过不了多久你们肯定就看见他了。
还要注意其变体！
1) 句型中的long可以换成 确数词，即指具体的时间。如：
a. It was five years before he came back.
过了五年他才回来。
b. It wasn’t three days before you changed your mind.
还没过三天你就改变主意了。
c. It will be three periods before school is over.
要过三节课才会放学。
d. It won’t be one minute before you feel regretful .
过不了一分钟你就会觉得后悔的。
2) 句型中的long 可以换成概数词，即用时间名词的复数形式。如：
a. It was weeks before I met her.
过了好几个星期我才遇到她。
b. It wasn’t hours before they accomplished their task.
没过几个小时他们就完成了任务。
c. It will be months before I go to see my grandma.
要过几个月我才会去看我姥姥。
d. It won’t be days before they return your books.

3) 句型中的be可以换成take (花费)。如：
a. It took us long before we got on well with each other.

b. It didn’t take hours before we finished our wall paper.
