教材分析和课堂导入
(1)三维目标
A. Knowledge and skills:
1. Understand the use of the words, expressions :
Content, astonish, fortunate, ordinary, entertain, overcome, convince, outstanding, particular, occasion, slide, amuse, whisper, vast. Drunk up to…, badly off, pick out, cut off, star in, etc.
2. Oral practice——Ask the students to collect some English humors and show them to the whole class.
3. Improve the reading skills by skimming, scanning, Intensive reading and extensive reading, etc.
4.Do the comprehending exercises in this unit.
B. Process and methods:
1. Teach the new words and expressions, paying much attention to the ones that the students cannot pronounce them.
2. Practise the oral English by showing some interesting English humors.
3. Skim the reading text to conclude the main idea of the passage, and finish the comprehending exercise 2 on page 19.
4. Scan the text and finish the comprehending exercise 1 on page 19.
5. Intensive and extensive reading.
