Today, as I sat on a bench at the edge of a lake, I saw an approaching mass of clouds.

 1  later, the first raindrops came. People ran away   2  and the land along the edge of the lake became 3  of people. Not knowing how long the rain would   4  , I walked to the end of the bench, under the   5  leaf-covered branches of a tree, to take advantage of a dry spot.
