Amazing national parks in the USA
Grand Canyon National Park
Large enough to fit 19 Statues of Liberty piled up on top of each other, Grand Canyon National Park is sprawling gorge(峡谷)of layers in different colors of pink, red, and orange, revealing millions of years of geological history. Due to the absence of broad roads, there are only three ways to explore below the edges: hiking, mule trips, and river rafting trips. Visitors are reminded to mind their steps along the way.
Death Valley National Park
As the largest national park south of Alaska, Death Valley National Park is known for extremes: It is North America's driest and hottest spot with less than two inches of rainfall annually, and it has the lowest altitude on the continent. Even with these bad conditions, the park still attracts nearly a million visitors each year.
Denali National Park and Preserve
Larger than the state of New Jersey, Denali National Park and Preserve is a vast open field that is mostly untouched by human hands, apart from one park road and a few scattered services. It is known for extraordinary wildlife, and big adventures from backcountry camping to mountain climbing.
White Sands National Park
New Mexico's White Sands National Park hit the big leagues in December 2019, becoming the country's 62nd national park. It protects the largest gypsum dune(石膏沙丘)on the earth, the remaining previous lakes and seas, and a 275-square-mile basin that is shiny white and stays cool to the touch. Visitors come to experience the eight-mile Dunes Drive, hike one of the five established trails, or see the soft sand appear blue-white under a full moon.
