There will be some events in our city at the weekend.
Peanut Festival: The peanut capital of Texas, Floresville, will be celebrating all things about peanut this weekend. The 74th Annual Peanut Festival will take place on Friday and Saturday. There will be live music, food, a carnival and two parades. The child parade is on Friday at 5 pm, and the big parade is on Saturday at 10 am. The festival is free to attend.
Woodlawn Lake 100th Anniversary: This city park is celebrating its 100th birthday on Fri- day evening. There will be food trucks, a movie screening and fireworks. All the free fun will start at 6:30 pm.
Barktoberfest 2019: A $ 5 donation gets you in the door, and you can enjoy all the fun with your "furry friends". There will be free beer for adults and entertainment for kids, and all earnings will go to San Antonio Pets Alive. The event will take place on Saturday at the Hidden Trails Community in Bulverde, starting at noon.
Light the Night San Antonio: This yearly event put on by the Leukumia and Lymphoma Society is to raise funds for cancer treatment. It will take place on Saturday at Hemisfair Park. Registration starts at 6 pm and the walk starts at 7:45 pm.
Nightmare at the Wax Museum: On Friday, the Wax Museum will open its Nightmare at the Wax Museum exhibit. Guests will walk through 16 scare-themed rooms. This exhibit will be open on Friday and Saturdays until Oct 28.
UFOs over Texas Fest: For believers or non-believers, this event will take place at Brick at Blue Star Arts Complex on Saturday night. It starts at 7 pm. Admission is free but donations are accepted at the door.
